Gary T. Ragghianti, Esq.

Engaging, perspicacious, irreverently funny, and compassionate, Gary Ragghianti quickly discovered he was a natural for mediation after he joined Resolution Remedies as a founding panelist more than 25 years ago.  With family roots in North Beach and Marin County, Mr. Ragghianti brings intellectual sharpness, legal expertise, and prodigious people skills to the mediation table.

“I am a very good listener,” he says.  However, Gary’s super-power may be that he begins every assignment with diligent preparation.  “Possessing all the necessary and relevant facts involved in a dispute always serves to gain the trust of the parties, as well as their attention, such that we may commence to resolve the dispute without having the opposing parties feeling that resolution is being thrust upon them.”

Ragghianti adds, “The real art in every mediation is to provide people an opportunity to make intelligent, informed, and voluntary decisions concerning their dispute that are grounded in a real appreciation for the risk, expense, time, angst, and uncertainty that punctuates all litigation of disputes”

“In addition to applying the law to the operative facts of a matter presented to me, I strive to ensure that the parties utilize good judgment.  In the end, I want and expect the parties to voluntarily choose a solution after careful review of the matter with me.”

Gary attributes his excellent settlement rate to an abundance of patience.  “While thoroughness and persistence may sometimes seem tedious or tiring, there is no other way to sufficiently produce full disclosure, fairness for all, and eventual mature resolution of a dispute.  Effective resolution of disputes is very satisfying,” he notes.

“It is also essential, in my opinion, to recognize the value of humor, even in a mediation.”  Gary observes that, “We are all flawed, imperfect human beings struggling to make things right.  Laughter is a powerful glue that can provide respite and keeps the parties on the track toward resolution and closure.”
