JUDGE LYNN O'MALLEY TAYLOR (Ret.)
Judge Taylor retired from the Marin County Superior Court in August 2004. While on the bench, she presided over some of the most litigious and complex trials and is known as a "trailblazer" for future generations of female judges. She has particular expertise is the areas of personal injury, construction defects, landslide, mold, contracts, probate, libel and slander, medical and legal malpractice, engineering malpractice, product liability, wrongful death, commercial and residential real property, insurance coverage issues, partnership dissolutions, family law, employment, labor, discrimination, elder abuse, securities fraud, sexual harassment, defamation and landlord/tenant disputes. A former civil attorney and teacher, Judge Taylor is known for her expertise in settling cases. Judge Taylor brings insight and integrity to her ADR practice. She has a wonderful demeanor and exceptional “people skills”. Judge Taylor “reads” the litigants well, allowing her to get to the “heart of the matter”. ON THE BENCH Judge Taylor served in every department on the Superior Court. As a sitting judge, she heard cases in virtually every substantive area of the law, including class actions. Judge Taylor served on the Marin County Superior Court from 1991 to 2004, and the Municipal Court from 1983 to 1990. She served as Presiding Judge of the Superior Court in 2002-2003. Prior to her judicial career, Judge Taylor was in private practice in San Rafael, CA. with a general practice.
