ADR EXPERIENCE AND SPECIALITIES

Ms. Sayad is a pioneer in the alternative dispute process and has extensive mediation experience. She has unique and particular expertise in matters involving employment, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, gender and age discrimination, personal injury, civil rights issues, contract negotiations, severance agreements, etc. Ms. Sayad's mediation style brings "passion" sprinkled with "wisdom" to her ADR practice. She prefers to be well prepared with a clear sense of the issues at hand, yet brings an "open mind" to the mediation session.

BACKGROUND

Pamela M. Sayad is the senior and founding partner of Sayad & Biren in San Francisco. Her law firm specializes in employment, discrimination & civil rights litigation representing plaintiffs as well as defendants . In addition to a litigation practice, her experience includes negotiating insurance coverage in employment litigation, drafting employment contracts and negotiating severance agreements, drafting Personnel Policies and Procedures Manuals, and counseling employees and employers on a wide variety of employment-related issues.

She has extensive trial and appellate experience both in federal and state courts in California, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia. Ms. Sayad is a former Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.

Ms. Sayad lectures widely in the area of employment discrimination law and the preventive measures employers may take to avoid potential litigation. She has lectured in the area of employment and discrimination law both to legal and lay audiences and has appeared on television talk shows and radio. Most recently, she was a featured speaker to the Practicing Law Institute on "Elimination of Bias".

Ms. Sayad was the individual responsible for opening the Olympic Club to women, being the first woman to apply for membership and then actively being involved in the litigation that eventually resulted in the Club admitting woman as full voting members. She also represents the San Francisco 49ers Football Team.
