EXPERIENCE & SPECIALTIES
Since her retirement from the San Francisco
Superior Court in 1997, Judge Grant has been very actively engaged in
ADR. She has conducted hundreds of mediations and settlement conferences.
Judge Grant has particular expertise in the areas of probate matters,
including estate and trust litigation, conservatorships and guardianships,
elder abuse and family law matters. She also handled civil litigation
in both Municipal and Superior Courts, including but not limited to matters
dealing with employment, discrimination, real estate, unfair business
practices, sexual harassment and landlord/tenant disputes.
She is well known and respected by her
peers and both sides of the bar, for her excellent settlement technique
and highly developed “people skills”. She “reads”
the litigants well and applies her vast knowledge and experience to the
case at hand, enabling her to get to the “heart of the matter”.
ON THE BENCH
Judge Grant served as a San Francisco
Superior Court Judge from 1982-1997, and Judge of the Municipal Court,
1979-1982. She was assigned as a Justice pro tem, First District Court
of Appeal in 1981.

- In 2000, the National College of Probate Judges
awarded the “Treat Award” to Judge Grant for her considerable
contribution and her outstanding performance as a probate judge. Faculty/lecturer
for various programs on probate litigation and family law sponsored
by The Rutter Group and CJER.
