Larry Baskin brings 40 years of experience as a litigator and transactional attorney to his Mediation practice. Knowledgeable about the law in a broad base of practice areas, Larry's primary strengths lie in business, real estate and construction. He is swift on the uptake with a knack for being able to quickly pick up on the law and facts in the matter before him and to connect with the parties and their counsel in a very personable manner. Larry brings a sense of perspective and sometimes humor, when appropriate, to help find and create solutions that bring people together to facilitate consensus on how to resolve their dispute.



Mr. Clement has been actively engaged in ADR for more than 15 years, conducting many arbitrations and mediations for both plaintiffs and defendants in the areas of business, real estate, construction, contract and professional liability. He has served as settlement judge pro-tem and has been appointed pro-tem trial judge in court and jury cases for the Sonoma Superior Court. Mr. Clement has broad business litigation experience, including cases involving real estate, oil and gas, contract, professional liability and unfair business practice. He has handled billion-dollar disputes over the value of geothermal properties, refineries, large apartment houses, shopping centers, residential property, ranches, development property and commercial property.



A veteran of the San Rafael City Council and a long-time legal practitioner, Damon Connolly has extensive experience mediating public disputes and finding solutions to difficult problems involving multiple parties, interests and issues. Damon brings an easy-going demeanor and calming disposition to his mediations, and he can effectively diffuse the tension surrounding a dispute to pave the way for resolution. While his specialties lie in complex commercial litigation, consumer, antitrust, insurance, and employment law, he is capable of handling a wide variety of matters.



Mr. Engel has arbitrated and mediated numerous construction, personal injury, employment, sexual discrimination, business and real estate matters. He has served as "Special Master" in connection with large construction defect litigation cases. He has extensive experience and special expertise in construction litigation, including mediating matters concerning subcontractors, contractors, design professionals and owners. In addition, Mr. Engel has added insurance, personal injury and all types of employment matters to his ADR expertise.



Dave Feingold has been in practice since 1986. The majority of his practice is devoted to representing community associations and homeowners in construction and real estate related issues. He also enjoys serving as a mediator and is known for his tenaciousness in exhausting all possible avenues of resolution for parties locked in dispute.A 1986 graduate of the University of California’s Hastings College of the Law, Feingold practices with the San Rafael law firm of Ragghianti Freitas, where he specializes in real estate and construction-related issues.



Peter has vast legal experience in business, real estate and estate planning, and especially with matters involving entertainment, having well honed expertise in the areas involving music and motion pictures. He has expertise in, and is certified by the Board of Specialization of the State Bar of California as a specialist in, Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law. After relocating to Marin, Peter worked in association with prominent Marin attorney Hal Silen until Hal's retirement. He is now affiliated with Bruce Blakely and practices from his office in Mill Valley.



Steger Johnson has successfully mediated hundreds of cases and brings a wealth of experience with him to the ResRem Professional Panel. As the former mayor of Belvedere and a participant in numerous committees and boards, Steger has played a vital role in local politics for many years. In addition to his years of experience in civil litigation, he has forged an expertise in dispute resolution through his many years as a mediator and through his service as an arbitrator and settlement panelist for the San Francisco Court.Having worked both as a defense attorney and later as a plaintiff's attorney, Steger is in a unique position to understand the various parties' needs and perspectives.




Mr. Litchfield has nearly 30 years of experience in civil litigation, including but not limited to, construction, real estate, insurance coverage, business and commercial matters, maritime law, personal injury, land use and municipal law. Mr. Litchfield draws on his expertise as a licensed General Contractor, Real Estate Broker and attorney to identify complex issues in construction and real estate cases.  He has served as a court appointed Special Referee, Settlement Conference Panelist, and Judge Pro-Tem for the Marin County Superior Court on many occasions.




After graduating from USC's Gould School of Law in 1991, Maylin spent the first 5 years of her practice primarily focused on plaintiff's side employment litigation as well as garnering experience in a wide-range of practice areas, including medical malpractice, personal injury , and business litigation. In 1996, she joined Walsh & Declues and began solely practicing employment litigation with a focus on representing public agencies. After moving to the Bay Area to open their Walnut Creek office in 1999, Maylin joined the San Francisco office of Jackson Lewis LLP in 2000. Since then, she has practiced primarily in defense-side employment litigation, along with providing employers advice and counsel and personnel training, and conducting neutral workplace investigations.



A successful litigation attorney for many years, Mary McLain was troubled by her clients' dissatisfaction with the process, even after winning cases at trial. She became a full-time mediator in 2000 after receiving her Masters in Law in Dispute Resolution with Mediation as an emphasis at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine. She brings experience and energy, legal and analytical acumen, calm persistence and determined optimism to help parties resolve their disputes. Ms. McLain has successfully mediated cases in a wide-range of areas including commercial/business, employment, real estate, personal injury, insurance, probate, construction, family law and partnerships. She has taught courses in mediation, negotiation, and the mediation clinic as adjunct professor at University of California Berkeley School of Law and University of California Hastings School of Law CNDR. She lectures throughout the United States and abroad as well as leads trainings in mediation.




In her 25-year legal career, Monty has represented national banks, Pacific Gas and Electric, the Bechtel Corporation, Proctor and Gamble, and the Chrysler Corporation, among other national and Fortune 500 companies. She has also represented many of the major builders in California and hundreds of construction subcontractors. She has been General Counsel for an international helicopter company, managing attorney for various national insurance companies, and staff counsel for Liberty Mutual Insurance.




Mr. Ragghianti's intelligence, resourcefulness and perseverance greatly contribute to his 95% settlement rate and overall success in the practice of ADR. He has extensive expertise in municipal law, land use, zoning, personnel matters, complex multiparty cases with emphasis on employment, wrongful termination, insurance coverage, real estate and partnerships. Mr. Ragghianti is an integral part of our "Public Entity Mediation" program. He has mediated many cases involving construction defects, product liability, property damage, contract disputes and personal injury. Mr. Ragghianti has served as a Referee and Judge Pro Tem for the Superior Court.





Mr. Senneff has broad experience in the resolution of employment, contract, business, construction, personal injury, professional negligence, and family law disputes. He has tried scores of cases to conclusion, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts. Mr. Senneff has regularly represented public entities in complex civil rights and tort disputes as well as contractors and developers in construction and development disputes. He has been actively engaged in ADR for more than 15 years, conducting many mediations and arbitrations. Mr. Senneff has served as a Judge Pro-Tem of the Superior Court in the County of Sonoma, has participated in the Court's mediation panels and has acted as a private mediator and arbitrator. Mr. Senneff brings a sense of "reason and practicality" to his ADR practice. He has a 'down-to-earth' style and is well noted for his knowledge of the law, insight and integrity.




Robert J. Sheppard, Esq.

As the Senior Partner in Sheppard, Uziel, Sussman & Rosen at 100 Montgomery Street in San Francisco, Shepard presides over a top-shelf firm with expertise in real estate law, neighbor disputes, landlord/tenant law, and commercial/business conflicts. Eric Sternberger is a partner at Ragghianti Freitas, LLP (as of August 1, 2008). His transactional practice includes acting as outside general counsel to businesses in a wide variety of industries including technology and intellectual property, shipping, construction, advertising/branding, web based, real estate, health care, and angel investment. From his experience, Mr. Sternberger has gained an excellent understanding of all manner of business and corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, joint ventures, buy-sell agreements, secured financing, bridge loan financing, securities, licensing, and real estate transactions.
